After early performances in awful working mens clubs and YMCA's across the north, UNION djs suddenly won Musik Magzines Bedroom Bedlam and were signed up as residents at the legendary 'Home' in Leicester Square. Immediately after their first set there, Westminsiter Council demanded that the club be shut down forever!
Unfortunately for clubbers everywhere they have since reached dizzying new heights, taking their mandate of destruction across the UK. In the last year they have taken UNION on the road always followed by an army of fun loving mentalists with no regard for what clubbing is 'supposed' to be. Alongside some of the biggest acts in the world they have brought the utter Armageddon of UNION to every loved and respected club in Europe most notably the mighty Fabric! As their new home, Fabric plays host to UNION once a month bringing in mega-artists like Dizzee Rascal, Mylo, Calvin Harris, Digitalism, Erol Alkan, Annie Mac, Chase & Status and Pendulum to name but a few. It's all a far cry from the early days but their attitude hasn't changed at all. Its still about 'bringing that life changing feeling that people are closer to one another than it might appear that's what everything we do is about... the music we play... every detail of UNION... everything.'
UNIONdjs are constantly raising their game and obliterating the rigid norms of dance music in the UK. Their recent collaboration with beatbox extraordinaire Killa Kela sees their high octane dj sets merge with spectacular live element including Kelas other-worldly voice box to create a one of a kind musical extravaganza - keep your eyes peeled for these unique shows popping up across the country
Having won the 2007 Lovebox DJ Competition and 'eaten that festival alive' (One Week to Live) - the cult of UNION has arrived on the festival circuit... next stop was Get Loaded in the Park 2008! Where the boys played alongside Mylo, Gossip, Soulwax and more. This summer we take the UNION tour bus to Ibiza for a weeklong mission of destruction. Setting down at Cream, Ibiza Rocks, Judgement Sundays and other heavyweight white isle institutions. At every UNION event around the country we run heats to up-coming and wanna-be DJs. The DJs will play in a competition as part of the set and need to prove their technical skills, tune selection and well as prove they have a following already! These will take place in the venues where the UNION events take place - so if you are in the London area it means you can get the chance to warmup at fabric even in the heats!!!
The winners of each competition will then go head to head in the final to win a residency at UNION where they will play main room sets at UNION@ fabric and their new sister club - matter and win peak slots at the best nights in Ibiza and a residency at Ibiza Rocks!! The runners up will still get a chance to join the UNION residents and become part of a very respected group of professional DJs - gaining chances to play at the top clubs around the UK and Ibiza.
